Phishing attacks are one of the most common online scams. Phishing can be in the form of phone solicitations, fraudulent social media accounts, or websites. Common phishing attempts include an actor posing as an official employee of an organization, creating a sense of urgency to receive sensitive information. DO NOT respond to unsolicited text messages or emails, click on links, download files, or open attachments from an unverified source.
Be on alert for suspicious messages. Fraudulent communications may include our logo, photos, links, or other content taken directly from our website, rwjf.org, to appear legitimate.
RWJF and its employees do not:
- Use Facebook messaging or other social messaging apps to communicate grant decisions, initiate financial transactions, or ask for bank account or sensitive information.
- Solicit donations or request funds of any kind.
- Require or request grantees to pay insurance, deposits, or delivery and administrative fees to receive funding.
- Approach individuals to offer grant opportunities or scholarships.
- Sponsor lotteries of any kind.
- Offer investment opportunities.
- Request conference fees or fees to apply for jobs.
If you receive any of the above communications or a message you feel is suspicious, DO NOT click any links, send money, or provide any personal or bank account information.
